HOW IT ALL STARTED

In 1989, Nigel Martin-Smith sought to create a British male vocal singing group and was introduced to Gary Barlow who has been performing in clubs since the age of 15. A campaign to audition men who could sing and dance, led to auditions in Manchester, where Howard, Mark, Robbie and Jason were selected to form the group ‘Kick-It’.
